LIBRARY AT A GLANCE

  • The Department of Earth Sciences has full-fledged reference library comprising more than two thousand books, Phd & MPhil thesis, National and International Journals.
  • The Library acts as a key resource and learning centre of the University to meet the information needs of students of MSc Geology, MSc Geo-informatics, MSc Environmental Sciences, and MPhil and PhD research Scholars of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The library plays an important role in enhancing the academic and research growth and overall development of the Department.
  • The Library is highly sophisticated with state-of-art facilities. It offers membership to current students & faculty members; alumni & corporate members and adopted an open access system so as to facilitate users to have easy access to the resources.
  • Further, to cater to various research needs of the users, the Library has subscribed to several national journals like Current Science, Journal of Himalayan Geology, Journal of Hydrology, Journal of Remote Sensing, and Journal of Geomatics etc.
  • There are separate compartments for books of each of the sub-branches of Each Sciences so that precious time of users doesn’t get wasted in searching the respective books and journals. To facilitate users with reading a spacious reading room is provided in the centre of the library.
  • To keep the library up-to-date, the department has kept a separate budget for procurement of important and relevant books. The number of books procured during the last 5 years is year-wise given below
